Overnight Caramel French Toast

 

1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
2 tablespoons light corn syrup
6 slices bread -- one-inch thick
6 egg -- beaten
1 1/2 cups milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon salt

Combine sugar, butter, and corn syrup in small saucepan. Cook over medium heat until thickened, stirring constantly. Pour syrup mixture into 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Place slices of bread on top of syrup.

Combine eggs, milk, vanilla, and salt. Pour over bread. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

In the morning, uncover and bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes or until light brown.
